Originally from Croatia, Irena has called Kansas City, Missouri, home for over twenty years and currently serves as our Creative Services Project Manager. This role involves a wide range of responsibilities, including managing the project pipeline, setting deadlines (and making sure everyone meets them), supporting graphic design needs, and helping with whatever else the creative services team throws her way.
Irena graduated from the University of Missouri Kansas City (UMKC) with a degree in graphic design. She’s worked in the senior living space for most of her career (including earlier collaborations with SLS founders Debbie Howard and Andréa Catizone). One of the things we love most about Irena is that she’s incredibly skilled at juggling multiple projects and vendor relationships.
Irena also appreciates the passion that everyone on the SLS team brings to the table. “There is so much opportunity to learn being surrounded with a team of experts that is passionate about the senior living industry,” she says. “Everyone on the SLS team is committed to success of the client and focused on finding innovative solutions.”
Outside of work, Irena loves spending time with her family (she’s married and has four children!). Her kids are active in sports, so you’ll usually find her cheering them on at practice or during a game. Her favorite “me” time activities include going for a walk, trying different cuisines, or simply enjoying a good cup of coffee.
Neither!
Fall and football, #GOCHIEFS!
I enjoy cooking a variety of foods. My husband is from Cameroon (West Africa), so he taught me how to cook a lot of traditional West African meals.
