“I love being surrounded by such a formidable team with a common passion.”
Based out of Bridgewater, New Jersey, Amy is a graduate of the Fairfield University, Dolan School of Business, with concentrations in Marketing and Business Law, Regulations, and Ethics. She also earned an M.B.A. from Seton Hall University.
Amy started her career five days out of college working for a customer experience company. During her 20 years with this organization, she had roles in client services, sales, marketing, and contact center operations, all of which serviced a wide range of industries.
A pivotal moment in her career, however, came when Amy met Debbie Howard in 2011. Debbie introduced Amy to the senior living industry and helped her realize her true passion: helping families navigate the difficult journey of seeking care for an older loved one.
In 2019, Amy made the decision to pursue this passion. She became a community relations counselor in a New Jersey-based senior living community where—as an essential employee—she experienced the pandemic firsthand, including the many challenges and successes, heartbreaks and losses, and eventually—the way back to revitalization.
In 2012, Debbie left Five Star to start Senior Living SMART with Andréa Catizone, who also spent her entire career working in the industry. Together, they use their combined 50 years of experience on the provider side to create strategies and tactics for senior living operators. Debbie says, “Because of our collective experience, we knew we could help operators connect the dots between marketing strategy and working successfully with prospects in the real world.”
Since Debbie has worked at every level (community, regional, divisional, and corporate), she can also easily help stakeholders within a senior living community, particularly the C-suite, understand the work and the value that she and her Senior Living SMART colleagues deliver every day. “We can meet with the C-Suite about reporting and ROI and also facilitate a call with community teams to explain the basics,” she says. “We understand that we have to get buy-in at every level to get the best results.”Amy was a top performer throughout her three-year tenure with this community and attributes her success to her genuine desire to help families navigate such a life-changing decision, particularly at such a difficult time in history. She’s especially proud of having developed a seamless sales experience for all prospects, one that was customized to each person’s unique journey.
In 2022, Amy decided to take the next step in her own journey by joining forces with Debbie Howard at Senior Living SMART. Together, they’re bringing LeadGenie – SLS’s lead management solution – to life. With this opportunity, Amy hopes to bring a personalized, relevant, and unique sales experience to even more families.
Outside of work, Amy loves spending time with her family. She also enjoys boating on Lake Wallenpaupack in the Poconos and relaxing on the slip with a drink. She coaches recreation soccer in the spring and fall and is a Faith Formation teacher at her local church. Amy enjoys singing, especially in the car and in the shower!
